Depending on time of day, there are different possible greetings…
Morning: Ohaiyo (gozaimasu) Afternoon: Konnichiwa Evening(generally after sunset): Konbanwa
The gozaimasu is used in formal context, like a business meeting or meeting someone new…it’s generally left out if it in a friendly context…. I’m unsure whether or not it’s used with the other two, but i’m going to assume it’s not since i’ve never heard it used with them, at least not often..
