   I just wanted to share a good Japanese example I found.

   “メリー クリスマスと新年の祝福と希望します。“
   translated from Engilsh: ‘Wish you a Merry Christmas and Blessings for the New Year.‘

   “If you want to place a sign on your front door that says the world Merry Christmas in Chinese it looks like this“

   there may be a better way to say メリー クリスマス, but this is what i learned in school. Can someone who speaks Japanese please post another example?

   I love the examples above but maybe this one will help you more.
   English: ‘Merry Christmas is typically followed by someone saying and a Happy New Year!‘
   Japanese: ‘メリー クリスマスは、通常、誰かが言っていると幸せな新年が続きます ！’

   I’m Japanese. メリー　クリスマスis just fine. This English phrase is as common as “Aloha” in Hawaiian.
